The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
NHS meets every Wednesday. induction is by invitation only. Sophomores with a 3.5 unweighted cumulative GPA are invited and inducted each February. In addition to participating in Adopt-A-Street and individual community service as juniors. NHS members organize the blood drives at THS. As seniors, they collaborate on their own senior service project.
